Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Frank “Pep” and Carole Sanzosti, and by his wife, Marlene. He is survived by his son, Michael Sanzosti; his daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Marc Padgett; his cherished grandchildren, Juliana, Ethan, Lexi, Hunter, Kennedy, Kerrigan, and Laurelee; his sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Sal Lamantea; his brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Kim Sanzosti; his niece, Chelsey; and his nephews, Anthony and Joshua.
Jim was a true legend — a man whose presence was larger than life and whose love for family and friends knew no limits. To know him was to be touched by his charm, humor, and unforgettable spirit. He lived with fierce passion, leaving an impression on everyone he met.
He shared a lifelong bond with his childhood friends — a rare friendship many envied, unshaken by distance or time. They spoke daily, traveled together to Italy, and gathered whenever possible, embracing life and proving that true friendship is one of its greatest gifts.
Jim loved sports with all his heart, especially hockey, and carried that same enthusiasm into every aspect of his life. He loved to cook, filling homes and hearts with meals as rich as his laughter. He savored the finer things — a good single malt scotch, a glass of red wine, or tequila shared with family and friends.
In retirement, Jim enjoyed every day. Whether on the golf course, fishing trips with the boys, hunting at the farm, or cheering in Tampa at the games, he created unforgettable memories that will be retold with laughter for years to come. He was one of a kind — full of knowledge, tough as nails, stubborn as hell, and undeniably loyal.
Jim’s legacy lives on in the love he gave, the wisdom he shared, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to have known him. His spirit will be felt in every cheer for a goal, every shared toast, and every song he loved to sing.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27 starting at 1:00 pm at Ancient City Farmstead 395 St Marks Pond Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32095.
