Jeff passed away February 1, 2020 surrounded by his family at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, FL. He was born December 6, 1962 in Leavenworth, KS to Gerald and Mary Ann Hunter. He grew up in Leavenworth, KS and Platte County, MO until joining the United States Army in 1981. After serving in the Army and being honorably discharged, he moved to Jacksonville, FL. He married his wife, Amy Goodbread in Jacksonville on May 26, 1990.
He was a metal worker by trade and employed by many Jacksonville companies, holding positions from Welder to Plant Manager. Most recently, he was employed by DCR Workforce as a Construction Manager in Beaumont, TX. He was a member of the American Welding Society and CWE Committee Member at Florida State College at Jacksonville.
He loved his family; and enjoyed cooking, gardening, cowboy movies and motorcycle rides across the country.
He was predeceased by his father, Gerald Hunter and his sister, Stormy Hunter. He is survived by his wife, Amy Hunter, his children, Isaac Hunter and Katelyn Hunter, his mother, Mary Ann Hunter, brothers, Alan Welday and Thunder Hunter, and sister, Cindy Welday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a contribution to your local Community Hospice or the Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
Friends and family are welcome to join us for an informal Celebration of Life on February 29, 2020 at 2:00. It will be held at the Woodmen of the World Center, located at 5901 Trout River Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32219.
