

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of John Beaumont, who passed on September 14, 2014 at home. John was born in Rock Island, Illinois to Loren and Alice Beaumont on September 29, 1948. He spent his childhood in Rock Island and at age 19 he was drawn to his first love, the United States Navy. He served in the Navy for 21 years. He was Navy Corpsman and earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer. John served in Vietnam.
John retired from the military in 1989 and then continued his love for the United States Government serving as a Medical Logistic Specialists up until the day of his passing. He served in Desert Storm and spent time in Kuwait. He went over to Norway to help out with the MPS project throughout his career. He received many honorary awards throughout his career including the two bronze stars for Vietnam service, the National Defense Service Medal and the National Logistics Medical award.
He is survived by his father, Loren Beaumont, Osage Beach, Mo; his wife, Shirley Warren-Beaumont; two sons, Jason and Jamie Warren; two daughters, Jackie McMahel and Judy Warren; and his grandchildren, Heather, Gwen, Emma, Julia, Brandon, Gracie and Connor.
We will be honoring John's life on the 19th day of September, 2014 at 10:30am at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills in Jacksonville, Florida. We will proceed with a graveside military memorial at 1300 hours at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that donations be made to the Navy Relief program.
John will be missed by all. John loved the Navy poem and so for closing - Fair Winds and Following Seas.
