John Verlon Clark, Sr., 78, of Jacksonville passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016. Born in Georgia, he was a son of the late Barney and Lou V Hodges. John proudly served his country in the Navy for 20 years. After retiring from the Navy, he started Clarks Lawn Service eventually retiring from that as well and passing it on to his son.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie Clark; sons, John V. (Ann) Clark, Jr., Robert (Lynn) Clark, James Clark and John V. Clark III; step-daughter, Christina L. (Chuck) Hurt; brothers, Gene Hodges and Horace Hodges; sisters, Eleanor King and Diane Stallard; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
