It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of John Allen Dotson, affectionately known as “STUCCO,” at the age of 54 due to a tragic motorcycle accident. John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Patricia Lee Dotson and John Robert Dotson of Orange Park.
John leaves behind his two cherished daughters, Dalaina and Daylynn Dotson, who were the apples of his eye and the center of his world. A devoted father, John was known for his unwavering love and support for his children, always encouraging them to chase their dreams.
For over 35 years, John established himself as a respected businessman, running Dotson and Brothers Stucco and more recently, Dotson Enterprise. His ingenuity and creativity allowed him to turn ideas into success stories, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients across Jacksonville and surrounding counties.
John was not only a successful entrepreneur but also a vibrant personality with a charismatic charm. His infectious laugh and jokes could fill any room, and he cultivated many lasting friendships throughout his life. He had a passion for fast cars and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
Beyond his professional life, John had a zest for life that encompassed his love for cooking, eating lots and lots of great food, traveling, and dancing to the beat of his own drum. He had a unique ability to bring joy to those around him with his carefree spirit and warm heart.
John was previously married to Dana Dotson, the mother of his children and shared a long term relationship with DeeDee Dice. Each and every person in his life has a treasure trove of memories with him, and he undoubtedly made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
As we gather to celebrate his life, we find comfort in knowing that John is now “WIDE OPEN IN THE CLOUDS.” Free and wild, just as his spirit always was. He will be loved and missed beyond measure, leaving a void in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Until we meet again, may his memory live on in the love he shared and the many, many lives he touched.
