John H. Havener Jr., 63, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, August 5, 2013. He was born May 3, 1950 to John and Mary Havener Sr. in Jacksonville, FL. John loved to tinker with mechanical things such as lawn mowers and cars. He enjoyed spending time with his close family and sitting on his porch watching the squirrels and people in his neighborhood. He is survived by his long-time partner of 32 years Debra Stephens, two sons John A. Havener, John Scott Havener, two daughters Britta Havener, Stacy Stephens, two brothers Perry (Shannon) Havener, Joe Havener, one sister Molly as well as many nieces and nephews. Arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A visitation will be held in the chapel on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 6:00-8:00pm for family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 11:00am in the chapel with interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
