John William Blaisdell, age 69, of Jacksonville, Fl passed away on October 29, 2022. He was born in Lebanon, NH on December 11, 1952 to Manley D. Blaisdell and Edith Virginia Fullerton Blaisdell. He graduated from Harwood Union High School Class of 1971 in Duxbury, VT and attended St. Johns Community College in Jacksonville, FL.
He joined the United States Navy in 1974. Johnnie was very proud to serve his country and enjoyed his overseas tours during his years in the Navy. While in the military he was awarded the Naval Achievement Medal (1 star), National Defense Service Medal (2 stars), Navy Commendation Medal Battle “E” award (2), Sea Service Ribbon (3 stars), Merit Orius Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Citation, and Good Conduct Medal. After 20 years in the US Navy, he retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He also was trained and worked in commercial air conditioning and refrigeration (licensed/certified).
He was an avid fan of the Florida Jaguars and NASCAR, enjoyed tinkering on cars and in his younger years loved riding motorcycles. He will always be remembered for his insanely outrageous sense of humor and his kind and generous soul.
He is survived by brother Richard Blaisdell and wife Faith Blaisdell of Chester, VT; sisters Donna Little Parkesburg, PA and Susanne Orthout of Cobleskill, NY; Life Partner Bobbie Karasik of Jacksonville, FL; and several beloved nieces and nephews, Katie, Loren, Tracy and Teresa, Bethany, Jeremiah, Alicia, Megan, Michael and Joseph, and Patty Espinoza. John loved his family and held his nieces and nephews very closely to his heart.
John was everything to his “Bobbi”, they shared 28 years together, a life highlighted by trips to Vermont to visit with family, attend weddings and funerals and vacations. Bobbi and her family were a huge part of John’s life; he loved them all.
Preceded in death by parents Manley “Mike” D. Blaisdell and Edith Virginia “Ginny” Blaisdell; brother Manley “Mickey” C. Blaisdell; and wife JoAnn Hoard.
Our “little” brother and adored “Uncle Johnny” will be missed and always remembered.
