

Jose Angel Rivera Roman was born December 11, 1955 in Caguas, Puerto Rico and went Home on August 22, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. He was known as Papo by his family and Clarence by his friends. His parents were Isabel Roman Del Valle and Jose Rivera Merced.
He graduated from Josefa Pastrana High School, in Aguas Buenas, with the Class of 1974. He attended Universidad del Turabo, where he studied Chemistry and worked in that field for years. His most recent work was Supervising Hospital Environmental Services.
Papo loved music, specially Salsa. He played the Bongos. He also loved sports and was very supportive of his nephews and their children’s passion for sports. He was always there cheering, if possible with a hot dog in hand. His sense of humor and laughter made him the life of the party and is loved and remembered by his family and friends.
He is survived by his two sisters Sandra I. Navarro and his brother and law Carlos Rivera and Ana C. Rivera and his brother and law Jose Suarez , his nieces Anna, Sandra, Selia and Jesenia and his nephews Salvatore, Juan, Carlos and their children, who also love him dearly. He is also mourned by his friends, among them Laura, Luisito, Quile, Sumby, Victor and many more.
Papo had a heart of gold. He could not see anyone in need. He helped anyone who needed it. He was courageous and faced many challenges in his life in a positive and courageous way. He never gave up. He had the initiative of a champion and overcame a lot of limitations.
