Joseph “Joe” E. Davis, 77, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on May 28, 2025. He was born on March 31, 1948, in Montgomery, Alabama.

Joe was a proud veteran who dedicated 20 years of his life to military service—serving six years in the U.S. Army followed by 14 years in the U.S. Navy. After retiring from the military, he continued his working life with Norfolk Southern then moved on to Penske Truck Leasing, where he also retired.

In 1984, Joe married Glenda J. Davis, with whom he shared many years. Throughout his life, Joe valued independence and hard work. He was a man of quiet resolve who found purpose in service and routine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie E. Davis and Tillman E. Davis; his brother, Howard Davis; and his granddaughter, Jamie R. Holden.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Davis; three stepchildren: Todd Denmark (Elyn), Rachel Holden (Thomas), and Danny “Mick” Denmark (Brenda); eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a niece; and other family members.

Joe’s life was shaped by service, personal strength, and perseverance. He will be remembered in the ways he lived—with purpose and quiet dignity.

A graveside service for Joseph will be held Monday, June 2, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
