

Deaconess King accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was educated in the Duval County Public School System. She became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Institutional Church over 70 yrs. ago. which is currently under the leadership of Reverend Michael C. Edwards, Sr. She served as a faithful member of the Deaconess Board, District 14, and Senior Women’s Church School class.
She was employed over 30 years as a culinary chef preparing meals for many dedicated patrons of Howard Johnson’s Restaurant. Deaconess King departed this life on August 25, 2015. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her spouse, Deacon Johnnie King Jr. On March 30, 1962 they were joined in holy matrimony and shared 53 years of marriage.
Children: Paul A. King (Mynessia) and Teva Monroe. Grandchildren: Mynessia C. King, Leslie King, LaTasha King, Victoria King, Azariah King, Jasmine Marshall, Malik Monroe and Doug Monroe Jr. Brother in Law: Lary King (Marguerita) of Honduras, Nieces: Andrea King, Sonya King, and Nicky King. Nephews: James Johnson (Jolene), Andrew Johnson (Gloria) , Jerome Cason, Rose Cason and Kevin Martin (Dion) of Temple Hills, MD. Devoted cousins: Robert Deary, Rodney Deary, Kevin Deary, Felicia Mervin, Ivy Kent, Robert Wilkerson, Melvenia Williams, and Pam DeCosta; and many others will who miss her dearly.
