Judy was born May 22, 1947, in Ida Grove, Iowa, to Sydney and Ethel Crosbie. Judy loved the farm she grew up on and taking care of the animals while following her older siblings around.
In 1967 Judy graduated from nursing school as an LPN. She worked in health care until she retired. She started working on the burn unit in Sioux City, Iowa. After being transferred to Jacksonville she worked many years at Baptist Downtown, and her last post was at Add to Life Adult Day Care Center. Judy loved caring for patients and all the connections she made with her coworkers.
She married Billy Shoop on April 13, 1975. They truly enjoyed each other and their life together. They shared many adventures through Bills military service, trips to St. Augustine, spending time with friends, and their greatest adventure their only son Andrew Shoop.
Judy loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading, crochet, defeating her grandkids at cards, baking, Sunday breakfast at Grumpy’s, and her time in the recliner next to Bill with a lap full of dogs.
Judy is survived by her husband of 47 years Bill Shoop, son Andrew Shoop (Carrie), her four grandchildren Jahmai, Aniya, Drew, and Jeremiah. She leaves behind several close friends and extended family that she spoke of dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sydney and Ethel Crosbie, sister Jan Crosbie, and brother Dale Crosbie.
Judy will be remembered for her generous heart and deep care for others. In honor of her giving nature and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lake City Humane Society at 1392 NW Shelter Glen, Lake City, Florida 32055 where they got their beloved dog Buttons who brought her great comfort in her final days.
