Patty was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting their needs before her own. Patty will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Patty enjoyed reading, bowling, dancing, skiing – both water and snow. She was very active in supporting her kids’ sports activities. She also had a passion for traveling and exploring new places. Patty was a very active member of the United Methodist Church where she found solace and strength in her faith.
Patty graduated from Lee High School. Following high school, she pursued several occupations to help support their family. Most of her career she worked on the business side of the medical field. When her kids were young, she drove a school bus and worked at a restaurant to be able to be there for her children. She was a very dependable, hard worker and was loved by all.
Patty is survived by her husband of 63 years, Russell “Eddy” Gaskin; her daughter, Debra “Kiz” Damato and son, James Christopher Gaskin; grandchildren Ryan Damato, Allison Cook, Ched Gaskin and Nikki Gaskin; great-grandchildren Grayson Cook, Chandler Gaskin, Chesney Gaskin and Chayni Gaskin. She was preceded in death by her father Christopher McCleary and her mother Dorothy Esco.
A graveside service for Patty will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00pm at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
Patty will be remembered for her selflessness, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
