

Larry Keith Schweckendieck, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Feb 2, 2013 after a long illness. He was born January 1932, in Hamlet, NC. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and fought in the Korean War. He graduated from Jacksonville University in 1959 and worked for many years for the State of Florida. Larry was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church for over 43 years where he served as a bus captain and a choir member for many years. More recently, he has been a member of Glenwood Baptist where he faithfully attended until his health declined. Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Marie, father Bill Schweckendieck, brothers Gordon Schweckendieck and Billy Schweckendieck. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gloria Liles Schweckendieck, sons, Stephen Schweckendieck of Minneapolis, MN., Philip Schweckendieck (Darlyn) of Baldwin, daughter, Claudia Albert and son, Joseph Schweckendieck (Tiffany) of Jacksonville, 6 grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Joseph, Haley, Benjamin and Emily, son-in-law, Herbert Albert, all of Jacksonville, sister, Carol Frock (Rodney) and brother Raymond Schweckendieck (Kathy) of Charleston, SC, sister-in-law Nina Crowder of Whitesburg, GA, brother-in-law, Joseph Brickhouse (Marie) of Dudley, NC and sister-in-law Ann Schweckendieck of Jacksonville, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Arrangements entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 11:00am with interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Pastor Stephen Smith of Glenwood Baptist church officiating.
