Laura Mary Smith, age 61, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023. The former Laura Gutknecht was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on October 4th, 1961, a daughter of the late Harold and Betty (Hettinger) Gutknecht. Laura relocated to Naples, Florida in 1976, then Jacksonville, Florida in 1979. Laura graduated from Florida Community College in Jacksonville, Florida with a nursing degree in 1994 and went on to work for Baptist Hospital until 2021.
Family members include her daughter, Hannah Greene of Jacksonville, Florida, sisters, Debbie (Jack) Aschenbach of Jacksonville, Florida and Susan Linden of DeKalb, Illinois, nieces, Sara (Robert) Horne of Jacksonville, Florida and Julia (James) Eirich-Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia, nephews, Shawn Aschenbach of Hamer, South Carolina and Tom Ledger of New York City, New York.
A private service will be held at a later date.
