Rest in peace Phil!  You are already greatly missed at the Mill.  I know that I for one will miss your positive attitude and smile as I walk through.  My prayers and thoughts are with Phil's family.

Go speed Phil you will be missed. Jeannette I know you will here that time heals. But time helps and remember your family is here . So lean on us in your time of need. it just goes to show, you never know when the Good Lord will call someone we love and care about to heaven, but back on monday, the Good Lord and God called my adopted uncle, Lawrence Phil Cox and told him he was needed in Heaven. May you finally have the rest you've earned and you will be missed by all of us Phil.  Leonard

Phil was my cowboy buddy!!  We fought at the Battle on the Lake in Lake City,  and at the Battle of Olustee together  with the Tenth Tennessee Cavalry.  He sang in our choir and was faithful member at River City Family Church. 
He was a great guy and will be missed by all his family and friends.  Bro. Jim and Brenda

Mr.Phil was an amazing man. I'll always remember him and I working on the old furnace shell in the winter time and him freezing in the man lift helping us out! This was Mr.Phill always willing to give a hand regardless of the circumstances. Mr.Phil go rest high on that mountain my friend!

It was always a pleasure working with or for Phil (Mater) at Gerdau. Him and I have shared some interesting conversation through the years. I will truly miss working with him. Rest in peace old friend.

Phil was always a pleasure to talk to and work with.  He seemed very happy most of the time and was a very dedicated person.  May he rest in peace.  He will be missed by many.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

Hi  my name is Bennie Wilson ,
                                             I had the pleasure of working with Mr.Cox , but I know him better as "Mater " . I only been here a few years and come across many people . Mr. Cox was always a friendly face , with that corky smile and he always had something funny to say .Making everyone cry laughing .
      I can't speak for everyone but i will miss him dearly ,Gerdau will never be the same .
