Linda Fay Davis was born on September 3, 1944 to Alfred Hess Davis and the former Lilian Mae Cooper. At the delivery, they were almost ready to call her a still birth when a nurse was finally able to get a life reading. She came into this world as a fighter and she has stood strong all of her life. She had older brothers and an older sister and later a younger brother. When she was young, she wasn’t one to be super “lady-like”, liking hand me down blue jeans and she enjoyed hanging out with her brothers.
Her family spent many years in the Paxon area and Linda attended Paxon High School. She worked at the drug store while in school and paid her mother a portion of her earnings every week.
After High School, she married Darrell Parris in April of 1963. They had 3 children, a daughter, Therese Michele on December 17, 1965, a son Darrell Ray Parris (II) on May 4, 1967, another son, James Melvin Parris on September 23, 1969. The family was involved with and enjoyed equestrian events. Linda and Darrell eventually divorced and later she married Warren James Brewer on October 31, 1982. With her passing at 4:00 PM on October 30th, Warren and Linda were eight hours short of being able to celebrate their 40th Wedding Anniversary.
Therese Michele gave her two grandsons, Lawrence Ray Howard and Christopher Shaun Johnson, along with a granddaughter, Christine Nicole Howard. These siblings gave Linda three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Ray Lawrence gave her 2 great-grandsons, Lawrence “Wren” Ross and Oliver Grant.
Christopher Shaun gave her a great-grandson, Rhett. Christine Nicole gave her a great-grandson, Lincoln Wade, and a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Francis. Darrell Ray gave her two grandsons, Jordon and Zachary. James gave her a granddaughter, Hannah. Brandon Scott gave her a grandson Kayden.
Linda loved her Lord and spent a lot of time with Christian youth groups and working with younger children to tell them and to show them about her faith and what it meant to lead a good moral life. She was also active in Scouting programs and spent many days and nights, even in the cold and the wet looking after and helping to mentor to so many young people.
The best thing to be said about her is that she truly loved her family and friends without any restriction.
She will be missed by a lot of people. She was always there to stand with and to help any and all, and neither asked for or expected recognition, or for other to return the good works. She had a giving heart and she had a forgiving heart and almost always without reservation.
