Lindsey D. Williams passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the age of 85. He leaves behind a great legacy of kindness, love, creativity, and humility.
Lindsey was born in Rabun County, Georgia on January 13, 1936. Upon high school graduation he moved to Jacksonville, FL, his permanent home. After 2 years service in the U.S. Army, he was a Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Paramedic where he retired as a lieutenant after 32 years. He was a skilled carpenter.
Lindsey was a 67 year member of Harvest Ministries where he served as Deacon. He loved to read his bible, he was good natured and loving man who gave from his heart. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Mary Williams, and a sister, Jean Holt.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Ouida Williams; sons, Anthony Williams (Kathy), Loran Williams (Donna); 4 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Courtney Bowden (Joe), Chad Williams, Caroline Horner (Taylor), Danielle Cole (Justin); 2 great-grandsons Joseph Bowden and Jacob Bowden and great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Rae Cole (Due July 17th); sister Marlene Morgan and five brothers: Ralph, Lloyd, Leon, David and Doyle.
The family gives many thanks to Community Hospice of Jacksonville for the care they provided in his final days.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 am, funeral service to follow at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
