

Lois was born on December 1, 1937, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Lloyd Saucer and Katherine Saucer.
She spent her life rooted in the Jacksonville community she loved. She was married to her beloved husband, Shelby Wells, Sr. Their life together was rooted in commitment, faith, and family, and he remained the great love of her life.
Lois was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and worked for many years as a medical transcriptionist, a role that reflected her dedication, precision, and strong work ethic.
In her free time, Lois enjoyed needlepoint, sewing, gardening, and reading the Bible and books on American history. She found comfort and joy in her faith and was affiliated with Westside Baptist Church and West Jacksonville Advent Christian Church.
Lois is survived by her son, Shelby Wells, Jr., daughter-in-law, Lucy Wells, granddaughter, Hannah Wells, and her sister, Joan Calderon. She is also survived by extended family members who will cherish her memory.
Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Shelby Wells Sr., father Lloyd Saucer, mother Katherine Saucer, and brother-in-law, Denny Calderon.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32205. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with committal at 1:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Community Hospice for their compassionate care and support. Lois will be remembered for her quiet strength, devotion to family, and steadfast faith.
