Maguire S. Killian, age 19, passed away on November 30, 2024. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on April 12, 2005 to David Scott Killian and Jessica Lani Miner. He attended Jacksonville School for Autism (JSA), where he engaged in friendships, arts and crafts, some sports and lots of fun.
Maguire was FEARLESS! First and foremost “Bubs” was afraid of nothing. Maguire loved many people and places but his love of swim beats them ALL! His love of swimming started as a baby and before he could even walk. He loved to soak in his hot-tub at any temperature and listen to his favorite tunes. He enjoyed all types of music, Reggae, Top 40 and Pop and all the classics Mom, Tiff and Uncle Jason shared with him. Music was his all-time favorite as it eased his thoughts and worries as he danced and rocked to the beat! Riding in the car he rarely missed a BEAT and loved the BASS of a dirty rap song…his Mom didn’t approve! Playing music and swimming were his FAV things to do.
As Maguire’s sensory and texture issues faded, his love for good food became another one of his most favorite past times……he became a Total Foodie! He loved foods of ALL kinds and even the healthier kinds and he just enjoyed sharing a meal with loved ones! His one and only true love for breakfast was introduced by his good buddy Jarrett, who toasted up his very first Pop-Tart and the rest is history!
He tolerated most of our family pets, but had a deeper connection to our Frenchie, Tank, who had an extraordinary sense when seizures would suddenly strike.
Bubs was loved by All and made friends easily with his goofy, yet sweet and tender way…..he didn’t have a mean bone in his body and only showed love to everyone who let him. His sweet nature is what connected him to people and IF you were lucky to be ONE if the CHOSEN ones, this has a much deeper meaning for YOU…….
Maguire was a fun and energetic little brother to Maddox….He admired and loved his brother and never out-grew playing his FAVORITE “Tickle Me” game – that never seemed to grow old, even as he did. Bubs never had to worry because he KNEW his big brother would be there to protect him and guide him through any sticky situation. Let’s be honest, there were many! We are thankful to have these memories now!
Maguire loved attending school at JSA for 13 years where he was lucky to form friendships and bonds with other children who were unique…just like him. His therapist and teachers alike couldn’t resist his contagious laugh and beautiful deep blue eyes.
Maguire had a heart and spirit that could light up the night. Words cannot express the depth of which he will be missed….the thunder of his heavy footsteps in the morning and the squeals of Joy he shared so often – when pleased with the smallest’s of life’s little joys….he loved SO MUCH and complained so little. If more people were like him, we’d be in a better place. May you rest in peace my sweet and gentle son and know how much you are loved here on earth and up in heaven. Life will never be the same without you in it.
He is survived by his mother, Jessica Lani Miner; older brother, Maddox Killian; father, David Scott Killian; grandmother, Lani “Nani” Miner; uncle, Jason Miner; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and various other relatives.
Preceded in death by grandfather, Al “Bugsy” Miner; grandmother, Diana “G-MA” Killian and grandfather, Arnold Killian.
A memorial service for Maguire will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
