Margaret N. Barrett, 90, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida to John and Beulah Newton in 1923. Margaret was a member of Riverside Park United Methodist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years. She loved reading books, traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains, and spending time with her family. Margaret worked at the Duval County School Board for 30 years, serving as secretary to the Board for much of that time. She is preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Norman R. Barrett; an infant son (1944) and infant twin daughters (1957); and a sister, Juanita Terry. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Wolfe; one grandson, Scott (Sylvia); and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a brief graveside visitation prior to the service.
