She was born on March 21, 1947 in Canton, Mississippi to Robert Standifer and Pauline Mitchell. She graduated Canton High School in 1965 and then graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in science.
Margaret taught at Orange Park Junior High School as a biology teacher. Her hobbies were raising and racing horses, volunteering at animal rescue shelters, cooking and creating delicious recipes, and snuggling up in her bed reading a good romance or mystery book.
Margaret was a loving mother to Robert Clifton Fleming (deceased) and Melanie O’Neal James whom she shares with Harry E. Fleming, her ex-husband. She is survived by her daughter Melanie O’Neal James and her grandchildren; Travis Keeling, Ivey Hannah, Cody Myers, and Dylan Myers.
