Marion McCullough Shannon is now with Jesus, her Savior and Lord. Marion was born in 1924 to Thomas and Selma McCullough. She was a graduate of Lee High School, class of 1942. She married Charles Shannon in 1945 and together they shared 64 happy years of marriage before his death in 2009.
Marion is survived by her loving children Chuck (Jan) and Jean (Webb); her grandchildren Chad, Cortney, Rebecca, Rachel, and Allison; and great-grandsons Braxten, Holland, Colby, Parker, Nathan, Atlas, Remington, and Sutton. She was predeceased by her son David (Susan) in 2004.
Marion loved cooking and preparing meals for family and served her famous "Mimi-Meals" with silver china crystal. She enjoyed gardening, making clothes for her kids, was a Sunday school teacher, church librarian, secretary, and retired from FSCJ Kent Campus in 1986 and was a member of First Baptist Church, Ortega. She was a former member of St. John's Park Baptist. Whatever she did, Marion gave it her best. She thought of and put others first and showed by example how we should love one another as Jesus loves us.
Marion lived an amazing life and touched our lives immensely.
From Marion's family, "We love you and will miss you very much, BUT because of your faith in Jesus, we will see you again one day in Heaven. We thank you for being our Mom and Mimi."
