Marjorie (Edwards) Oding, 106, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born March 30, 1908 to Walter and Florence Stanford in London, England. Marjorie had an “obsession” with painting and it was her passion. Her work has been displayed in City Hall, churches, banks and maybe even Buckingham Palace. Marjorie received a letter from Mamie Eisenhower thanking her for the portrait she painted of President Eisenhower in 1957. She taught art for many years and had faithful students who quickly became friends. She is survived by one sister Joyce Loubere, two nephews Paul Loubere, Philip Loubere and one niece Rosemary Morris. Arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend David Holladay presiding. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
