Martin was born March 30th, 1954, in Jacksonville, FL to Clem and Martha Blalock. After graduating from Terry Parker High School in 1972, he went to work for Union Camp, starting out as a lab quality control technician. There, he met his current wife, Helen (Johnson) and the two married on February 14th, 1981. They welcomed a daughter in November 1989. He continued to work his way up to Quality Control Lab Supervisor, where he remained in his position until his retirement in September 2016. A man of many interests, he had a love for boating, guitar, and traveling to Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter and son-in-law, Jessie and Kent; parents Clem and Martha; two brothers, Clinton (Annette), Keith (Tina); granddaughter, Emileigh.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 25th, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
