Michael Frank Ciopryna "Sailor", 75, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016. He joined the Navy in 1960 and retired after 20 years as an honorable veteran. His hobbies consisted of playing softball for the Navy, fishing, avid poker player, supporting his son's various sports activities and later in life spent many hours in his yard pulling weeds. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Violet Ciopryna, sister Lucille Whipple.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years Muriel; sons Michael (Carol) Ciopryna, Mark (Brenda) Ciopryna, Matt (Melanie) Ciopryna; grandsons Gage Ciopryna, Austin, Josh and Jacob Guerrero; granddaughters Emily Ciopryna, Melissa, Andrea Fernanda; sister Carol Mraz; nephew Ronnie Whipple; many other nieces, nephews, and extended family who knew Mike as "Cy", "Sailor", "Gambler Mike", and "Mr. Mike". Mike touched so many lives. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 2:30 pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers please make donations to an affiliation of your choice in memory of Mike Ciopryna.
