

Michael was born November 2, 1949, in Brooklyn, NY. After high school he joined the United States Air
Force where he served for 24 years. Michael served in Thailand during the Vietnam War, as well as
Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield. During his service, he enrolled in college, earning a Bachelor
of science in Electrical Engineering and three Master's Degrees.
One of his many passions was observing the stars and studying Astronomy. Michael enjoyed sailing the
Florida waters on his sailboat and he loved singing Karaoke.
One of his greatest achievements was being a father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, Brett
Kocijan, two grandchildren Kylie and Ewan Kocijan, his brothers Scott and Allen, and his sister Melody.
Visitation will be held on February 11, 2021 at 6:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home,
850 St. Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL. Graveside Service will be held on February 12, 2021
at 9:30 am at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL.
