Mona Margaret Stapleton, age 77, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on January 23, 2022. She was born in Astoria, NY on July 26, 1944 to John and Mona Kovaleski. She married Woodrow Harden Stapleton on February 11, 1963 and worked as a wife and loving mother.
Mona was a fan of The Young and the Restless, the Bold and the Beautiful and Guiding Light, “Queen of Soaps!” DO NOT INTERRUPT!, and also liked to garden. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville.
She is survived by daughters, Lauri G. Saleeby (Paul) and Holly A. Kinard; son, Glenn H. Stapleton; granddaughters, Taylor Ann Leibold (Danny) and Jordan S. Starnes (Andy); grandson, Forrest H. Kinard (Paige); great-grandsons, Waylon M. Starnes and Connor G. Leibold; great-granddaughters, Alayna B. Leibold, Lennox E. Starnes and Irys G. Stapleton; and niece, Jacqueline Shannon.
Preceded in death by husband, Woodrow Harden Stapleton; mother, Mona M. Kovaleski; father, John Kovaleski; and sister, Jacqueline Kovaleski.
A graveside service for Mona will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32073.
