Olen Wayne Byrd, 64, passed away June 4, 2011. He was born May 11, 1947 in Rock Hill, SC. A long time resident of Jacksonville he served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 316 and 283. He retired as a Sheet Metal worker.
Family members include his daughter, Michelle (Victor) Scott; bother Thomas Lee (Carole) Byrd; sisters, Donna (Andrew) Surrency and Julane Brandon; grandchildren, Trace and Marli Scott; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Olen and Lucille Byrd and sister, Laura Boyd.
A memorial service will be held at 11am, Wednesday June 8, 2011 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. N. Jacksonville www.hardage-giddenschapelhills.com.
