Pauline Reed Tucker, “GG”, passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice of Orange Park, FL on June 2, 2023 after 97 full years of life. Mrs. Tucker was retired from the Duval County School Board where she worked as a secretary at Jeb Stuart Junior High. She was born in Split Rock, Minnesota, traveled to Washington, DC with girlfriends after high school to work for the government. It was there that she met the love of her life. She and Bill were married 57 years. They resided in Jacksonville since 1953.
She is preceded in death by Bill (2001), and her son, Billy (2022).
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Sutton, three grandchildren Jeffrey Sutton (Tara), Ryan Sutton (Aftan), and Kimberly Domonkos (David) and four great-grandchildren, Reed Sutton, Sophia Sutton, Phoenix Sutton and Mattie Domonkos.
Pauline rarely missed any of the grandchildren’s sporting events. You would frequently see her working in her yard weeding and raking. Her yard and home were kept immaculate, of which she was extremely proud. She was very independent and insisted on remaining in her home. Nedafay provided the in-home care to make that happen as long as possible. Her last two years were spent at Benton House of Oakleaf where she received exceptional care by many but Tonya and Michelle were especially attentive. Pauline was a very giving, genuine, and generous lady. She attended Trinity Methodist Church, Lake Shore Methodist Church, was a member of the Riverside Eastern Star and German American Club.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 9, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, with graveside service on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Memorial Park. Pastor John Pope will be officiating.
“Well done my good and faithful servant.”
