

Randolph “Randy” Martin Davidson, 73, passed away on October 23, 2021, at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida. Randy was born in the Allegheny Mountains in Clifton Forge, Virginia on April 18th, 1948. Born to Rev. C. E., a pastor & barber, and Rosia Mae (nee Martin) Davidson, Randy was the youngest of four children. He graduated from Allegheny High in 1966 and went on to join the Navy in 1967. After training, he was eventually stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii where he met his wife, Bonnie Rose Alice (nee Whistler) and were married in 1975.
Randy served 20 years in the United Stated Navy; 10 years as a Hospital Corpsman x-ray tech then switched specialties to Career Counseling and recruiting for the remaining 10 years. He loved the Navy and the opportunity it gave him to travel the world. Randy retired in 1987 as a Chief Petty Officer off the USS Saratoga CV-60 stationed at Mayport FL. He then settled in Jacksonville Fl with his wife and 3 daughters. For the next 26 years, he worked in various management positions at Beaver Street Foods in Jacksonville, Florida before fully retiring in 2013. Randy was an active member of Christ the King Parrish. He also had a love of sports; it gave him so much pleasure to watch his grandchildren play their many sports. He coached girls’ softball for many years, was a fan of Nascar, the Jacksonville Sharks, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Randolph was predeceased by his parents: Rev C.E. & Rosia Mae Davidson (Martin), his siblings, Lois Mitchell and William Davidson, and grandchildren, Rose Lily Irizarry, and Joy Desirée Tupper. Surviving family members include, wife, Bonnie Rose Alice Davidson (nee Whistler), daughters, Rosa Valencia Tupper (Michael), Veronica Marie Davidson (Erin), and Jessica Lynn Irizarry (Daniel), Grandchildren: Alex Irizarry (Alonna), Alex Tupper Jr., Gabriella, Joseph (Jedi), Mahayle, Kal-el, Aidan, Rembrandt, Waylon, one great grandson, Neal, sister Eunice Forbes (Bill), and dozens of nieces, nephews, and their children. In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
A memorial service for Randolph will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:00am at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225, followed by a reception.
