

Raymon “Ray” Dickerson, 80, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026. Born on June 16, 1945, in Baxley, Georgia, Ray lived a full and meaningful life defined by faith, diligence, and devotion to family.
Ray spent his early years in Georgia before settling in Florida, where he built both his livelihood and his legacy. A skilled plumber for more than 50 years, Ray took great pride in his craft, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike for his strong work ethic, reliability, and honesty. He often said that good work was its own reward, and those who knew him would agree that his steady hands and generous heart reflected that belief.
A man of deep faith, Ray lived his life guided by Christian values. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, always putting the needs of his family first. Ray found joy in simple moments—time spent with loved ones, lending a helping hand, and sharing stories and wisdom earned through years of hard work and perseverance.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Eloise Dickerson; and his siblings, Juanita Edenfield, James Dickerson, Ronnie Dickerson, and Mary Lou John.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty Dickerson; his sons, Randy Dickerson (Jessica) and Russell Dickerson (Justice); and his daughter, Tracy Dickerson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Candace Clack, Dylan Harper, Dusty Harper, Haley Dickerson, Courtney Dickerson, Hunter Dickerson, Jonathan Mattair, Rylee Dickerson, and Hayden Dickerson; and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Ray is further survived by his siblings, Toby Dickerson, Mike Dickerson, Verleen Clinton, and Linda Gail Hollenbeck.
Ray leaves behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, faith, and quiet strength that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church-Maxville, located at 8635 Maxville Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32234, on January 22, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on January 23, 2026 at 10:00 am. A committal service will be held at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, located at 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, on January 23, 2026 at1:00 pm.
