Richard Edward Wadyko

CWO4 Richard Edward Wadyko, USN-R, passed away in Jacksonville on August 5, 2019, at the age of 73. He was blessed to have received the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick and was in the presence of his loved ones as his earthly life ended. Papa was the heart of his family and will be deeply missed. We rejoice in his example of a life lived in service to others. Thank you, Dad, for teaching us that authentic love always leads to the cross.

Richard was a loving husband to Anne Wadyko, beloved father to Scott Wadyko and Justine Wadyko, beloved father-in-law to Gerald Pangelinan and Carrie Wadyko, and cherished Papa to Gabriella, Joseph, Lauren, Kevin, Mary Clare, Isaiah, Hannah, Gemma and Christian. He is also survived by his loving siblings Patricia Davidson, Paulette White, Alan Wadyko, James Wadyko, Laura Truschka, and Terri Albrecht and his extended family overseas (the Boyles). He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Stella, and his sister, Barbara.

Visitation will be Monday, August 12th, 2019, from 6pm to 8pm, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home (850 St. John's Bluff Rd, Jacksonville, FL, 32225). The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7pm.

The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at 11am, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (11665 Ft. Caroline Rd, Jacksonville, FL, 32225).

Burial is at 1:30pm, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218). Reception to follow at the American Legion Post 316 (1127 Atlantic Blvd, Atlantic Beach, FL, 32233).

In lieu of flowers, please have a Holy Mass said for the repose of his soul, or make a donation to the USO or The Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother.
