He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
He is preceded in death by his Father Raymond J Tierney (25 years to the day) and mother Louise Tierney. Bob was a veteran having served in the U. S. Air Force. He was a professional engineer with dual licensure in civil and mechanical engineering. He worked for consulting engineering firms and also for the Department of the Navy. He retired as an environmental engineer.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Mary, son Brian Tierney of Bridgewater VA and his wife Karla Tierney, grandchildren Alvin and Lilah, brother Larry Tierney, sisters Carol Rae Carlos and Patricia Byrd, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park with military honors. Hardage-Giddens, Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard is serving the family.
