Robert Fitzsimmons Scott, 92, passed on to his eternal rest June 16, 2014. Bob was born in Savannah, GA October 18, 1921. He faithfully served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Albermarle and the USS Intrepid. After being honorably discharged, he took up residence in Jacksonville where he was employed by the City Property Appraiser’s office. He eventually retired, joined the Retired Employees Group where he served one year as President. Bob was also very active in many fraternal groups, namely York Rite, Scottish Rite, Shriners, Amaranth, Sojourners and a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Pauline G. Whittemore Scott, stepsons Wayne J. Whittemore (Nancy), Orlando, Charles C. Whittemore, Jacksonville, sister Dorothy Hogan, sister-in-law Barbara Scott and numerous nieces and nephews as well as step-grandchildren. Arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 6:00-8:00pm in the visitation room. Funeral services will be held in the chapel on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 10:00am with interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
