Robert “Pop” Stacy was born in Killeen, Texas on November 16, 1938. Robert enlisted in the Air Force for a few years and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy to continue serving his country for 30 years, retiring in 1986. Robert was awards several ribbons and medals for his service as aircraft communications technician when aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower naval ship. Robert loved the life he created with wife, Shirley Stacy and becoming the “Pop” everyone knew and loved. His favorite things to do were go on Royal Caribbean cruises or trips to Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
Robert was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Shirley Stacy; step-daughter Cindy Cook; and granddaughter Linda Mayo. He is survived by step-daughter Rebecca Osterloh (Mike); step-son Robert Reiske (Donna); grandsons Chris Mayo (Christine), John Mayo (Julie); and granddaughters Cari Nipper (Josh), Terri Bradley (Brian); and numerous great grandchildren. Greatest appreciation given to Vitas Hospice for the excellent care provided in the final months of his life.
Robert will be laid to rest with his wife, Shirley Stacy, at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Friday November 15, 2024 at 12:30 PM, Lane 1.
