I graduated from Ron’s Broadcasting School in 1975. He got me my first job and I have worked for radio stations for 24 years because of his influence. He was a Great Guy and is definitely missed!

   Although it's been 7 years ago since his passing,I'd like to say he will always be missed.Ron was easy going and one of the friendliest people you'd ever want to meet.Others have said he was the greatest in Jacksonville.I would have to agree with them 100%.I sure loved his show (Ron and Records) on WPDQ.
   Ron taught me all I needed to know to get started in radio from June to December 1973 at his United Broadcasting college.Ron sure knew his stuff about radio and taught us very well at the school on Atlantic Blvd.To Ron's credit,after all these years,I'm still in radio after 43 years of service to the public.Even though I'm in middle Ga.,radio is radio no matter where you live.And I still enjoy it every day I'm behind the mic.
   Ron was ticky about correct pronunciation and taught me very well how to speed read and pronounce my words correctly.He also helped me get an OJT volunteer job at a Church on Anniston Rd. for about 3 months to help get the jitters out of me so to speak.And I was very determined to pay close attention to Ron's teaching and it paid off.Not that I'm trying to pat myself on the back.Ron and only Ron deserved to be patted on the back for his ability to teach us right the first time.
   May God rest his soul and rest in peace Ron.You will never be forgotten.Because of Ron,I turned out to be a Southern Gospel DJ and have tried to be a huge blessing to tens of thousands here in Middle Ga. for all these years.If you are ever in Middle Ga. on a Sunday morning from 6-11,and you like Southern Gospel,tune into 93.1 FM,96.7 FM or 1440 AM and listen in.We stream live on wdxq.fm .I guarantee you'll love the songs you hear.I specialize in old Southern Gospel from the 60's through the 90's and newer.After 43 years,still no complaints.

Ron was one of the reasons I decided to get into radio.  That was 40 years ago.  Things just aren't the same without "Ron and Records."  He's one of the greatest in Jacksonville radio history and will be greatly missed.

Ron and I hit WPDQ at the same time in 1964 working for Mike Reineri.  I did PM drive and Ron was on 7-Midnight.  Even though we were never real close, I always remember how easy going and good natured he was.  So sad!  Just remember:  "Lovers Never Say Goodbye."

Ron will always be remembered as the guy who helped me get into Radio. Ron called Tom Adams over at WPDQ and got me a job as a gopher at first until I got my first gig. That was in 1968. As Jim Shirah said, "Ron & Records" will live on in my memory. May God Bless his Family at this time.

I too, had the privilege of working in radio with Ron, but long before that, I was a regular listener to “Our Best To You”.  First on WPDQ, then on WAPE.

Ron was one of my mentors, and for that I am grateful.

I can still hear his voice at midnight – "Whether you’ve got your own teeth or not, keep smiling everybody”.

Then, the Flamingos with “Lovers Never Say Goodbye”.

Ron was among the best in radio! I worked with him in the '60's when he came from WPDQ to WAPE. Very sad to hear of his passing. As time goes on, there's fewer of us left who worked together in those wonderful years. I extend my deepest regards to family. May the Lord lift you up & add His blessings upon you only as He does.

So sorry another Ron is not long with us.  I worked with Ron mid 65s at the original WAPE 50,000 watts.  I worked two or three times and Ron was always there when I came back.  He was a friend of mine and I will look forward when I look forward to seeing him again.

I also worked with Ron at WAPE for four really good years.  Ron's show was on the air immediately after mine so I saw him every evening for a few minutes.  I always liked him very much and I still think he had one of the most perfect radio voices I ever heard.  My condolences to his family and friends.  For those friends who didn't know him then, you probably don't think of him as a rock and roll disc jockey but you should know that he was a really good one.

I am so sorry to hear this. I worked with Ron 4 years when we were at WAPE radio together from 1967-1971..I have some wonderful memories of hearing "Ron and Records" every night. So sorry about your loss. Jim Shirah
