Rosa Lee Sapp

Rosa L. Sapp was born September 9, 1931 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Joseph & Rachel Jones. Rosa grew up in Columbus and graduated from Spencer High School in Columbus, Georgia. The family later moved to Phenix City, Alabama where she met and married Reuben L. Sapp Sr on Februray 1, 1955. This union was blessed with 4 children, 12 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren. During her husbands time in the military the family lived in Stuggart, Germany and Philadelphia, PA. In 1961 after her husband retired from the military the family moved to Yonkers, NY. Rosa worked for the Yonkers Board of Education for over 20 years. In 1996 the couple retired and moved to Jacksonville, Florida.

Rosa Sapp passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 27, 2012. She leaves to cherish her memories, husband Reuben L. Sapp Sr, son Reuben L. Sapp Jr (Tanya), daughters, Diane Sutton (Antoine) of Yonkers, NY, Brenda Simmons (Robert) of Jacksonville, Fl, Cynthia Worrell (Benjamin) of Yonkers, NY. Grandchildren, Antoine Simmons, Ashley Sapp, Curtis Simmons, Duane Sutton, Bianca Overton, Jazmin Overton & Qasim Cooper (Yonkers, NY) Alicia & Arielle Simmonds (Oxon Hills, Md) Kenyetta & John Burke III ( Jacksonville, Fl) Robyn Worrell (Lonnie) (Jacksonville, Fl). Great-Grandchildren, Emmanuel, Cyrie, Amiyah, Ja’Niya, Z’aira, Da’Quan & Da’Mani. Also a host of nieces, nephews and numerous children she treated as her own.

She was predeceased by her son Charles, her brothers Joseph & William Jones, sisters Laura Jones & Mary Shipp.
