Samuel William Bozeman, known as Sam to some, Uncle Billy to others, Dad to a few, and Papa to many, left us all on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, to be with his beloved departed wife in their heavenly home.
Born February 5, 1932, in Jacksonville, Florida, Sam travelled the world during his extensive military career in the Army and Navy before serving in, and eventually retiring from civil service in 1987.
Sam was a Mason and a Shriner and was very supportive of the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
Sam is survived by 4 sons, Robert (Gail) of Jacksonville, FL; Sam of Kingsland, FL; Steve (Esther) of Ingleside, IL; and Matt (Barbara) of Folkston, GA; as well as 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his only true love, his wife since 1951, Betty Jean; two sisters; and both of his parents.
Visitation will be from 6PM to 8PM on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd in Jacksonville, FL with funeral services at 2PM on Sunday, November 24, 2019 also at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
