

Hearn was born April 11, 1928 in Alamo, GA. He was proud to serve 2 years in the US Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. In 1954 he married Adele Wright and resided in Jacksonville, Florida until his death.
Hearn had an exceptionally strong work ethic. He was a valued employee of Ivy Steel & Wire for 40 years.
He achieved the position of Maintenance Supervisor and was known for being able to fix anything! If a part wasn't available he would design one from scratch. He was also a devoted husband and father, attending every game, performance and ceremony regardless of which shift he was working. In his free time, Hearn enjoyed automobile racing, especially NASCAR, often taking the family to races. He loved country music and playing the guitar with his family. He also enjoyed bird hunting, woodworking and fishing from local bridges.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Adele Pittman; and his two devoted children, Danny Pittman (Laurelle) and Janice Kehler. Hearn had two beautiful granddaughters, Bee Ralston and Courtney Gotz, and two loving great grandsons, Ryan and Samuel Gotz.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Oris Pittman, John E. Pittman, Hazel Peters and Annie Thomas
Funeral Services will be held at: Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205
Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 12:00 pm
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am before the service at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jacksonville Humane Society (iaxhumane.org) would be welcome
