I met Sara in 1968, we became boyfriend and girlfriend and dated during our junior year in high school. Sara was such a special person to me. We both shared a love for Elvis Presley and each other.  We reconnected by email in 2009. It was great to have her back into my life.  She will always be missed and loved by me.

I met my "SaraLee" in 1972 when working for BCBSF. Sara and I quickly became friends. She was an inspiration to more people than she ever could have imagined. Sara would give you everything she had and then some. She and I were fierce "Gator" and "Dawg" Fans. Those days were filled with fun and jokes on each other that will forever be a part of my book of treasures. God has truly called home one of his Special Angels and I know she's up there telling them all what to do with that mischevious laugh we'll all remember. Rest Well My Friend. I know without a doubt that when you met Our Lord, his words were "Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant". I Love You and will Miss You all the days of my life.

Sara was such a wonderful person. She was a good neighbor with a kind heart. I remember walking by her cute house each day and admiring her plants. She always spent so much time caring for her yard and her sweet kittys. On  one occassion, I told her how much I admired her yard. And the next day on my door step was one of her beautiful plants in a pretty blue flower pot from Sara. That plant has multiplied and flourished in my front yard and each time I look at them I think of her. She will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her loving family and sweet pets.

Sara took so much pride in her yard,she was constantly making our neighborhood more beautiful. She was an inspiration and will be missed. May peace be with her family.

I have known the Hampton family since 1952.  That was the year my family moved next door.  Sara's grandparents resided there with their dog "Cricket".  After the years that followed, I was glad to know that Sara now resided there. When I would visit my parents and I would see Sara in her yard, she was always very friendly.

I have known her sister, Linda, for many years.  She and I were at Lake Shore and Lee at the same time.  

I have many wonderful memories of the Hampton family.  Sara will certainly be missed.

Saturday morning a beautiful soul entered the gates of heaven, my sweet and loving cousin.   I was fortunate to be present on one of her last visits to my parent's home,  her Aunt Shirley and Uncle Ray  Schirbock. She was very upbeat as usual with her normal devil may care attitude.  Although her visit was short, it prompted a long discussion after she left, of remember when... My parents and I spoke of Sara fondly in stories of her antics during  her youth, summer visits at the lake, and  her work crew building up her driveway so many years ago.  Our condolences to the remaining family members, Linda, David and the girls.

Sara, we will miss your smile, laughter, consideration and above all strength.

Shirley, my prayers are with you and the family.  Take faith in knowing your Aunt Sara is in a beautiful and peaceful place now.  Love you!

Linda, David and Girls..........how shocked I was to see Shirley's post on Facebook.  I am so sorry.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do.  She was such a sweetheart and so ill for so many years, but always such a beautiful and positive attitude.  Now, God has another angel!

When I maried Bob almost 16 years ago and moved right next door to Sara, she was the first one to welcome me to the neighborhood. 

Many times she would call on Sunday morning and say "I've got sausage, eggs & biscuits ready, want some?"  Well, nobody can cook that kind of breakfast to equal Sara's. I still remember how good her sausages were and cannot replicate them to this day. She was always very generous with little gifts if she even thought there was a only slight chance you may like it.  

Sara's heart always had room for one more kitten or cat.  She fed all hers inside and always made sure there was food & water put out for any stray cats, and any raccoons that may want a snack.  I always enjoyed going in the backyard & seeing Sara's cats sitting in the window. I know they were a great source of comfort for her but her house just wasn't big enough to hold all the ones that she had room in her heart for.  

This great picture of Sara is just how I want to remember her now, happy & smiling with her beloved sister, Linda.  
I can't say enough about the tender loving care I witnessed from her brother-in-law, David.  Always at her house when she was able to be cared for at home, and then moving her into he & Linda's house these last 3 months to care for her there.  I know they sacrificed a lot to make sure Sara's every need was met lovingly.    

Sara was a determined fighter in health & in sickness and never complained, even when I knew she was suffering.  She was stronger than any of us knew.

I learned things about myself from being around Sara.  I cried last night at the news of her death, but today I can look at her picture with the smile on her face and I can smile back at her.  

I will surely miss her & the cats for a long time, but I feel enriched as a person for having known her.
