Scott Michael Whittemore passed away peacefully on August 7, 2023, with his beloved wife of 34 years Patty (Marajh) by his side. He was the loving son of Albert Lee Whittemore and Margaret Mary (Dwyer), loving brother to Mary Whittemore (deceased), Karen (Coffee) Bell, Marc Whittemore, and Laura Rogan, and loving uncle to Sean (deceased), and Justin Bell, Crystal and Brooke Whittemore and Benjamin and Conor Rogan. Patty’s family: deceased mother and many brothers and sisters, brother-in-law and cousins were very fond of Scott. He leaves behind many friends and colleagues who shared his passions, including photography, painting, music, and mineral collecting.
Scott grew up in Massachusetts and was especially fond of Gloucester. He went to Lowell Technological Institute (UMASS) and worked for many years as an environmental Consultant at ERT/ENSR. He also worked as a computer programmer at VHB Engineering for many years until retiring in 2018. Scott and Patty lived many years in Nashua, New Hampshire, before relocating to Jacksonville, Florida where they worked, played and enjoyed life with their dogs Pablo and Keva.
Scott touched and inspired countless lives through his photography of birds, flora, and nature – a forever gift of his kind and generous nature. He will be missed by so many!
A Celebration of Life for Scott will be held on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at Queen's Harbor Yacht and Country Club, 1131 Queen's Harbor Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32225, beginning at 12:00 PM.
