

Steve had a long career as a diesel mechanic employed at several locations across the city. He was most recently employed at Walt’s Wrecker Service for the last 4 years.
Steve was known for his amazing sense of humor. He loved making his children laugh. He enjoyed seeing people smile and always has a comment to help encourage that. Steve loved fishing and spent most of his days at the pond with a pole. Notre Dame football was his passion. There wasn’t a Saturday you couldn’t hear Steve yelling at the TV. Steve LOVED his children. He would brag about them to anyone who listened.
Steve is survived by his mother Tricia (Johnny) May; his children Erika (Nicholas) Smith, Brandie Rodgers, and Austin Rodgers; grandparents Don (Joni) Beckwith and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Steve will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Whitehouse Baptist Church, 24 Celery Ave N, Jacksonville, FL 32220. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 24 Celery Ave N, Jacksonville, FL 32220. A committal service will occur Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Hardage- Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
