

Valeria Williams Roberts (Vee), 85, passed away at her home on May 8, 2021 after an extended illness. Loving friends were by her side. Born in Perry, Florida she was the youngest of six children. She lived her early years in Hampton, South Carolina before moving to Jacksonville, Florida. She was predeceased by her parents, Valerious Miller Williams and Grace Tappan Williams, sisters Mary Frances Fillmon and Ruth Forehand, and brothers Robert, Lovett and Harold Williams. She started her professional career in 1957 at Maxwell House Coffee as a statistical typist, where she eventually became the plant buyer. After she retired in 1988, she traveled this beautiful country with her beloved husband, Charles Baldwin Roberts, staying in campgrounds along the way, until his death in 1990. She felt truly at peace when visiting Bullard’s Beach, Bandon Oregon. She was an avid reader and writer, journaling her life and travels, and keeping up with family and friends daily through email. She adored the stately trees, big cats, and numerous family felines (especially her dear Mongo). She was a true lover of all things nature. She had the ability to make others feel special and will be lovingly remembered by her step-daughters Barb Roberts, Lynn Roberts (Ted), Nancy Lane (Tom), step-son Taylor Roberts (Cathy), her dear friends Mary MacEnulty, Emily Chapman, Jackie Ferreira, Jim Nickerson (Hugh), Cynthia Griffin (Garry), Lincoln Bagwell, Pat Walker, Debbie Nolan, Frank Arceneaux (Sarah), Laneia McCrea (Robert) and many cherished nieces, nephews and other lifelong friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home on Normandy Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wildlife Rescue Coalition of Northeast Florida at 6853 Seaboard Avenue 32244.
