Victor Spirko, age 91, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 in Jacksonville, Florida. Victor was born May 12, 1921 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Michael and Olga (Rudkowsky) Spirko. He first came to Florida in the summer of 1941, where he met and fell in love with his future wife, Jennie. Victor served honorably in the United States Navy during WWII, rising to the rank of First Class Petty Officer. After the war the young couple settled in Jacksonville, where he worked at Jacksonville NAS for 35 years as a tool and die maker. He was an avid outdoorsman, looked forward each year to hunting season, and a lifetime member of the Samsula Hunt Club. He loved to build and repair in his tool shop, loved to travel, and spoke seven languages. He was a member of the German - American Club, Morocco Temple Shrine, Young at Heart Club, and SNPJ Lodge 603. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Jennie Spirko in May of 2011. Survivors include his son Craig Spirko; daughter Melanie Petronelli; one brother Billy Spirko; two grandchildren, Abigail and Adam Petronelli. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday April 26, 2013 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville FL 32205.
