

Virginia Wilson Hamlin, age 101, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving care team and family at W. Frank Wells Nursing Home in Macclenny, Florida. Virginia was born on February 20, 1924, in Doerun, Georgia, the daughter of Horace and Minnie Lee Wilson. She was united in marriage to William E. Hamlin on December 2, 1944, in Georgia.
Virginia was a retired beautician of 70 years and a devoted member of Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. She had a true passion for gardening, traveling, and family gatherings. Virginia will be remembered most for her infectious laugh, excellent work ethic, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and church.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Bernice, Romey, and Lizzie; her husband; her children Sammie, Wayne, and Bill; and her granddaughter Heidi.
Those left to honor Virginia’s memory include her daughter-in-law Ann Hamlin (Arthur Tinker); granddaughters Sherry Silknitter-Baker and Lindsey (Dudley) Smith; great-grandchildren Joshua Baker, Kyle Baker, Taylor (Katie) Baker, Ashley (Sam) Lills, Tiffanie Silknitter, Lincoln Smith, and Tucker Smith; great-great-grandchildren Layla Baker, Hudson Baker, and Mason Baker; her devoted friend Alice; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a memorial service to immediately follow at 10:30 a.m., at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. N., Jacksonville, FL 32225.
