

Wanda Whittier Collins, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Bryceville, FL on August 7, 2025. She was born in Jacksonville, FL on March 10, 1952, to Arthur F. Whittier, Sr. and Sara Marchman Whittier.
She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, FL in 1970 and married Fred Collins on August 29, 1970.
Wanda worked for 30 years in the banking industry and retired as a Credit Ops Analyst from Wachovia Bank in 2007.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, watching the birds, traveling with her husband and researching family history. Her most favorite things were spending time with her cat, Shadow, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was important to her.
She is survived by loving husband of 55 years, Fred Collins of Bryceville, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Heather Collins Bennett (Heath) of Bryceville, FL; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Hannah Bennett Sessions (Tyler) of Callahan, FL; granddaughter, Hallie Bennett of Bryceville, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur F. Whittier, Jr. (Priscilla) of Jacksonville, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Whittier (Melanie) of Jacksonville, FL; brother and sister-in-law Cary Whittier, Sr. (Debbie) of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Betty Collins of Cairo, GA; sister-in-law, Gail McMillen of Bryceville, FL; great-granddaughter, Sarah Mae Bennett of Bryceville, FL; great-granddaughter, Kate Sessions of Callahan, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Sara Whittier; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Clara Collins; sister and brother-in-law, Jim and Jeanine Whittier Jenkins; and brother-in-law, Gary Collins.
A Celebration of Life for Wanda will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 12:00 pm at The Riverside Event Pavilion, 1373 Memorial Park Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. "We invite you to celebrate Wanda's life in casual attire. Think comfortable and relaxed.”
