Wenifreda Ador Yape

Nanay Wenie got her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Eastern Samar College and went on to teach at Llorente Central Elementary School in Llorente, Eastern Samar, Philippines where she also retired. When the opportunity came, Wenie immigrated to the U.S. and settled in Jacksonville Florida. She loved people watching, travelling, hanging out with her friends, reading romance novels, and solving word puzzles. “Walker Texas Ranger,” “The Wheel of Fortune” and “The Prize is Right” have been her favorite TV shows. But nothing can overshadow Nanay Wenie’s love for the Lord Jesus Christ, fellowshipping with the Church, Bible Studies, reading her worn out Bible every day, and her love for her family.

Wenifreda was predeceased by her husband, Eufronio Yape, and 4 childrens Amy Yape, Judith Yape, Lilian Yape and Josephine Bano. She is survived by her children Nilo Yape from Stockton, CA, Evelyn Bagunas from Llorente, Eastern Samar, Philippines, Cynthia Yape, Lilibeth Yape, Marietta Santos from Jacksonville FL, and Pastor Gregorio “Ninoy” Yape from Lipa, Batangas, Philippines. Nanay Wenie was adored by her 8 grandchildren.

The Yape, Ador, and Santos families would like to thank and acknowledge Nanay’s extended family at Christ Cares Alliance Church in Jacksonville, Florida with special mention to Nori and Louie Domingo, Jun and Arlene Delos Reyes, Malcolm and Anne Chua, Fidel and Luz Pascua, Bing and Leslie Barile, Arnold and Yolly Lactaoen, Nanay Nida Montano, Nanay Cita Liu, Rolly Maracut, Pastor Ping Paraon, Zeny Panajon, and Dr. Alex Dizon for always being there for us. We will never forget the kindness of Pastor Rothie Ranola and the Pastoral staff that visited and prayed over Nanay Wenie so many times. God bless you all.

Families and friends are encouraged to pay their final respect for Wenifreda and send their condolences to her surviving family for a Memorial Service on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 7:00 pm at Christ Cares Alliance Church, 1620 St. John’s Bluff N., Jacksonville FL 32225.
