

He graduated from Riverside High School where he was an all-city basketball player for the Hawks. Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1964 and was stationed in South Korea as part of the post-Korean War peacekeeping force. Bill lived many years in Java Lake, NY where he loved fishing and the outdoors of rural Wyoming County. He was a longtime fan of the Buffalo Bills and the New York Yankees. He was employed by the Local 7 Boilermakers union. He was a member of the American Legion in Strykersville, N.Y. For many years Bill and Marion wintered in Port St. Lucie, FL where they enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren, friends and family.
He was the husband of the late Marion Holland; son, to the late William and Loretta (Leahy) Holland; and brother of the late Loretta (Pat) Patterson, James (Joan) Holland and John (Shirley) Holland.
Survived by brother, Vince (Barbara) Holland of Fort Pierce, FL; daughters, Nancy Holland-Krystofik, Sandra Bak (Michael) and Kathleen Holland all of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Jason Krystofik (Megan), Samira Valdez (Bobby), Krystina Ishak, Devin Ishak, Brendan and Erin Bak and many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Arlene (Michael) Witkowski of Java Lake, NY and the late Nancy (Vlad) Feingold.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 3:00 to 3:30 with Funeral Services beginning at 3:30 at Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road N. Jacksonville, FL 32225.
Graveside service will be Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road Jacksonville, FL 32218 with military honors.
Donations can be made to Northeast Florida Community Hospice.
