

He served in the US Army from 1967 to 1970 in the Vietnam War. Once he completed his service, he received an honorable discharge as a Sergeant E-5. While employed with the federal government, he continued his education and graduated from Edward Waters College in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He was a Supply Chief and retired after 31 years from the federal government in 2012.
He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years, Rose Washington Bonner. To this blended union was five children.
Sons: Willie Earl Bonner, Jr.; James Omar Bonner; Andre Marterius Bonner; and Reshaude Novake (April) Preston.
One daughter, Moneshia Shavonne Bonner.
Six grandchildren: Willie Earl Bonner, III; Anthony Smith; Paytience Donnelle Bonner; Dajhia Nicole Preston; June Marie Preston; and Noelle Rose Preston.
One brother, George (Flora) Bonner and five sisters; Annie Mae Richardson; Rozena Bonner; Josephine Kilpatrick (Roscoe); Ella Mae Spicer; and Janie Mae Davis; all of Jacksonville, Florida.
Three of his siblings preceded him in death Sam Bonner, Jr., Bernice Adside, and Charles Bonner.

Willie is gone physically, he took his wings and flew away, but he will never be forgotten, he will be in our hearts ALWAYS AND FOREVER!
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at The Potter’s House International Ministries, 5119 Normandy Blvd., with Graveside Service at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., at 9:30 a.m., Lane 2.
