

William Dennis Gregory, 75, of Richmond Texas, formerly of Grandfield, Oklahoma, passed away on October 19, 2022, after a valiant fight with liver cancer. His family was by his side. Dennis was born on June 2, 1947, in Brownwood, Texas to William Arthur Gregory and Ila Faye (Risinger) Gregory. At a very young age, his family moved to Granfield, Oklahoma. He was raised and baptized in the Church of Christ and graduated from Grandfield High School in 1965. Dennis joined the US Air Force in April 1966 and was honorably discharged in April 1970. He then went on to Oklahoma State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology in May 1974. Before graduating, Dennis married Jeanne Winchell in 1973 in Grandfield, Oklahoma.
Dennis began his career as an Engineer at Moran Bros. Inc. Oil & Gas in Wichita Falls, Texas. After several buyouts and acquisitions, Dennis and Jeanne moved to the Houston area where he worked for Diamond Offshore as an Operations Manager. During his tenure there, he worked and/or traveled to 35 different countries and 6 continents. Outside of his career, he loved to play golf and was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Oklahoma State University Cowboys. He spent part of his retirement traveling through the 48 contiguous states with Jeanne in his RV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Arthur in 2012 and Ila Faye in 2020. He leaves behind his wife, Jeanne of Richmond, Texas; Lindsey (Gregory) Tyner and husband Ty of Austin, Texas; Ashley (Gregory) James and husband Brandon of Richmond, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Ella James and Emma James both of Richmond, Texas; sister Linda Faye (Gregory) Fritze and husband Richard of Burkburnett, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews living in Oklahoma and Texas.
Services will be held in the chapel at Katy Funeral Home (23350 Kingsland Blvd Katy, TX 77384) on Monday, October 24, 2022 with visitation from 12:00 - 2:00 pm and ceremony from 2:00 - 3:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038) on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 11:15am.
